Christmas Carol: Smoke and Mirrors archiveIt is Christmas Eve, 1844. Whilst his staff struggle to make ends meet for Christmas, the miser Scrooge is visited by three ghosts who show him visions of his past, present and future. A fantastical story about redemption and recession, using Victorian special effects. Originally written by Charles Dickens in response to an amendment of the Poor Laws, this new version, by Shaun McCarthy (Beanfield, Circus Britannica), examines the modern parallels and the timelessness of charity.
