Massa archiveThis play, set in a time when class was everything, combines two stories through a Victorian gentleman, Arthur Munby. His interests in the working class lead him to study a group of northern pit women and an illicit affair with Hannah Cullwick, a London maid. This insight into a world much forgotten, poses questions more relevant than ever. Can cultural boundaries be crossed? Can people really be happy where there are? And just what is a woman's place.
