Namatjira archiveAlbert Namatjira, one of the great Aboriginal artists, brought the Australian desert landscape to the world with his unique watercolours. At the height of his fame, his shows sold out within minutes and he painted for the Queen. He supported over 600 members of his community, yet lost two of his children to malnutrition, was forbidden to own land, was imprisoned for something he didn't do, and died a broken man. Namatjira's extraordinary life is retold half a century after his death by the charismatic performer Trevor Jamieson, Australia's leading Aboriginal actor, and the artist's descendants.
