Radio archiveAl Smith's play Radio is a spoken letter home from a young American soldier in the devastation of the Vietnam War. Beginning his story at the centre, the exact centre, of America Charles Fairbanks Junior tells his sweetheart of his origins, his family, of the land and of the moon and of falling in love. And he tells her of the radio his father built and the hopeful and fantastical stories it poured forth.
