Details

Sophie Shadow archiveSophie is the youngest of three generations of a family in hiding from an oppressive regime. They are sharing their refuge with friends, neighbours and activists. When one of the grandparents becomes ill, the group faces a life or death dilemma: risk discovery by seeking help; or let the illness take its inevitable course. To take their minds off the choice and to help Sophie understand their plight, the group start telling stories - stories about a little girl not a million miles away from the one in their midst. Soon a host of fantastical tales are conjured up and acted out using everything they have to hand to help in the telling.
