The Clink archiveThe Clink is a tale of murder, treachery, conspiracy and corruption set in early seventeenth century South London, an area known for its brothels, disreputable inns and for The Clink: the infamous prison that quite a few of the play's characters will get to know. Elizabeth I is dying and the Jacobean era is about to begin. Historical but contemporary, uproariously funny yet deadly serious. The Clink has a motley cast of characters including Elizabeth I, politicians, bishops, alchemists, beggars and stand-up comedians.
