Their Very Own and Golden City archiveThe play charts the fate of lifelong friends who believe in the brave new world of Socialism before the World War Two. In their youth, the four friends meet in the inspiring space of Durham Cathedral, and the play reveals their hopes and dreams for the future world which they will found and inhabit. As we flash forward in time we see how that dream conflicts with harsh reality and how finally , battered and a little bruised by life, Andy celebrates the completion of the Golden City.
