In a small pub in rural Ireland, three local bachelors gather for their customary pint and chat. But tonight Finbar Mack sails in from town with a young woman, new to the area, under his wing. As the warmth of the peat fire draws them in and the effect of the drink gently oils their discourse, they all in turn reveal something of their past - their stories somewhat more ghostly than expected.
