Black and White - T01591206510

Expect creative fun from one of our oldest surviving alternative comics. Taking down politicians. Mucking about. New ideas and finding HOPE. This award-winning comedian (is there any other type?) asks how did we get here? What are we going to do about it? Who's up for a sing song? After lockdowns and isolation this show is about the simple act of being in a room together and toppling international capitalism.

50 Things About Us - T1914310275

Mark uses his trademark style of storytelling, stand-up, subversion and really, really, well researched material, to try and find out how the hell we ended up in the middle of this show. 50 Things About Us is a show about songs, gongs, loot, tradition, wigs, nicking, statues, art and identity. A sort of funny national edition of Who Do You Think You Are?

Product - T02099043516

The only TV show never to be repeated is finally back! Before Joe Lycett, The Revolution Will be Televised, Lee Nelson, Dom Joly and Balls of Steel, The Mark Thomas Comedy Product was the show that set the agenda. From challenging corporations, exposing corruption, ending MPs' careers and setting up a PR company at an arms fair, Thomas's show changed the law on tax and inherited wealth, caught the Home Secretary hiding behind the war on drugs and happily used just about every conceivable military vehicle in the cause of comedy. It was the show that MPs prayed they didn't appear on and that finally became too hot for Channel 4. Showing his favourite clips and explaining what went on behind the scenes, Mark now tells the story in its fullest glory - from knob gags to arms deals, from the risqué to the risky - in this cinematic live experience of mischief, adventure, and seven years of gunning for the corrupt with a camera crew in tow.

What's going wrong in our NHS, how it can go right and what the future might hold for all of us.Director Nicolas Kent. Design Jon Driscoll. Sound Helen Atkinson. Showtime from the Frontline - T996177632

Dodging cultural and literal bullets, Israeli incursions and religion, Mark and his team set out to run a comedy club and put on two nights in the Palestinian city of Jenin. Only to find that it is not so simple to celebrate freedom of speech in a place with so little freedom. Jenin refugee camp, a stronghold for the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade during the Second Intifada, is not a place synonymous with laughs. But it is also home to the Jenin Freedom Theatre and to people with a wealth of stories to tell. Mark tells this story alongside Faisal Abualheja and Alaa Shehada, two performers, actors and now aspiring comics from the Jenin Club. This is a story about being yourself in a place that wants to put you in a box. Funny, moving and necessary. Mark says, it's the nearest he will ever get to Alan Parker's 'Fame'.

A Show That Gambles on the Future - T0421997895

Few predicted the events of 2016. And even fewer seem to know where we are going. Mark Thomas sets out to discover what the future has in store for us by collecting and examining his own predictions and those of his audiences before gambling on their outcome. By making futurologists of us all, he will create a fantastical, hilarious and possibly accurate vision of the world. And maybe even make a few quid on the side.

The Red Shed - T1633653136

Multi award-winning comic/activist Mark Thomas performed his first gigs in The Red Shed in Wakefield, a 47-foot-long wooden hut that doubles up as a Labour Club. Three decades later he returns to celebrate its 50th birthday, entwining the story of his political coming of age with the tale of the people who inspired him. The struggle for hope and survival in a shed, a story of strikes, fights, dinner ladies and beer; friendship, love, memory and above all belief. Theatre, stand-up, journalism, activism and a small amount of help from the audience.Producer Lakin McCarthy (in association with West Yorkshire Playhouse). Director Joe Douglas. Lighting Kate Bonney. Other Tine Selby (production manager).

A Show That Gambles On the Future (Work in Progress) - T01861993320

Few predicted the events of 2016. And even fewer seem to know where we are going. Mark Thomas sets out to discover what the future has in store for us by collecting and examining his own predictions and those of his audiences before gambling on their outcome. By making futurologists of us all, he will create a fantastical, hilarious and possibly accurate vision of the world. And maybe even make a few quid on the side.

Red Shed - Work in Progress - T01534301263

Red Shed is the third part in a trilogy that started with the multi award winning shows Bravo Figaro and Cuckooed. Mark returns to the place where he first started to perform in public, a red wooden shed in Wakefield, the labour club, to celebrate the clubs 50th birthday. Interviewing old friends and comrades Mark pieces together the clubs history and works with the club to campaign with some of the poorest workers in the country for their rights. It is the story of the battle for hope and the survival of a community in a small wooden shed. It is part theatre, part stand up, part journalism, part activism and returns to Mark's obsessions of community and struggle. The show will involve the audience (in a nice way) to help recreate the shed and its inhabitants.

Trepass - T01928760780

Trespass carries on from where 100 Acts of Minor Dissent left off; using his signature style of theatre, stand-up, a dash of journalism, activism and a dollop of mayhem! Mark asks the question: If the ramblers of the 1930's were here now what would they do to open up the cities? How do we turn the skyscrapers and corporate squares into our playgrounds? He sets out to try and carve a small space in the urban world where mischief and random chance can lurk. No one knows where this show is going to end up so join him on the journey!

Cuckooed - T389505321

Following his award winning shows Bravo Figaro! and Extreme Ramblings, Mark Thomas returns with his true story of how Britain biggest arms manufacturer came to spy on a comedian. Ten years ago an activist and close friend of Mark's was exposed as a spy for BAE Systems infiltrating the movement. Now Mark wants to find him and has some questions to ask. In this personal tale of hubris, planes, demos and undercover deceit, the award-winning performer tries to unearth what it means to be spied upon by a corporation under the sanction of the state. As usual expect plenty of laughs, some weird characters, probably a tear or two and the vague possibility that Mark might get beaten up as he tries to find out if he wants revenge or can forgive a friend.Presented byLakin McCarthy (in association with Traverse Theatre). Author Mark Thomas. Director Emma Callander.

Bravo Figaro - T1034107860

There aren't many south London builders who would sing along to La Traviata while slating a roof. This man was a brutal Methodist-Thatcherite. To support his family he worked more hours in more days than anyone else he knew. His home was his kingdom, and he ruled it with violence. The fact this man was Mark Thomas' dad is a fitting contradiction. So too is it that these men unexpectedly found a way to communicate through Opera. Mark turns the focus of his epic style of storytelling to his toughest target yet - himself. We fly through a world of hypocrisy, sledge hammers and arias in this funny and heart breaking new piece.Author Mark Thomas. Director Hamish Pirie. Sound Helen Atkinson. Lighting Jack Knowles. Extreme Rambling (Walking the Wall) - T536535546

Never one to take the easy option, Mark decided to go rambling in the Middle East and walked the entire length of the Israeli Separation Barrier crossing between the Israeli and the Palestinian side. This is the story of 300,000 settlers; a 750km wall; six arrests, one stoning; too much hummus and a simple question... "Can you ever get away from it all with a good walk?"Producer Phil McIntyre Entertainment.

Manifesto Work in Progress - T01614160314

The Manifesto returns! After a sell out tour, three series on Radio 4 and a book the Manifesto is back. This is the show where the audience get to make the policies of the future, Mark Thomas (for it is he) collects audience suggestions to make the world a better place, create Heaven on earth or just annoy the neighbours, discusses and debates them and the audience get to vote on the policy they feel best represents them, to create a manifesto. As a new Radio 4 series of the Manifesto looms Mark takes to the highways and byways of Britain to find out what people want in his own inimitable style, debating ideas and mucking about, looking for laughs and the occasional glimmer of sanity. Past policies voted for by the audience include: Invade Jersey and shut down tax havens, there should be a gamble button on all ATM machines and anyone found guilty of a homophobic hate crime should serve their entire sentence in drag. Who knows what will emerge this time round?

Walking the Wall: Extreme Rambling - T797085113

Work in Progress. Never one to take the easy option, Mark decided to go rambling in the Middle East and walked the entire length of the Israeli Separation Barrier crossing between the Israeli and the Palestinian side. This is the story of 300,000 settlers; a 750km wall; one stoning; six arrests; too much humuus and a simple question...

The Manifesto - T01316528361

Award-winning comedian and activist Mark Thomas returns to Soho with work-in-progress performances of his Manifesto. Mark creates a manifesto - a policy paddle to help steer our way out of Shit Creek. Every audience gets to vote on the policies they like, Mark road tests them and then sets off to make them happen. It is somewhere between Jim'll Fix It for anarchists and White Collar Crimewatch, with a passing nod at Bill Drummond, the Fluxus art movement and Anneka Rice.

It's the Stupid Economy! - T0231848679

Mark Thomas attempts to answer some of the more pressing questions about the state we are in. Is Britain the new Iceland? If we own a couple of banks can we lend ourselves money and use their phones to call Australia? And what on earth is a 'derivative' and is it possible to use the word without also mentioning 'Keane' and 'Travis'?
