Keneish Dance is a fresh and innovative Contemporary Company. Formed in 2009 under the artistic eye of Keisha Grant, the company has developed a powerful approach to dance using Contemporary and African Contemporary Forms. Using the body as a vehicle for self-expression, Keneish Dance strives to produce strong, distinct movements translating everyday life experiences, to deliver a powerful visual impact to the viewer. Vigour includes a special collaborative work with Sculptural artist Heidi Luker. Choreography by Keisha Grant. All Seeing - Inspired by a stunning Shona sculpture by Zimbabwean artist Albert Manvura, displayed at The Horniman Museum. The emotions, elegance and simplicity held in the sculpture's features are bought to life in this performance, where a watchful owl becomes a powerful weapon for defence against enemies and negative spirits. I Said, You Said, We Said - A playful study of human interaction. This piece investigates the subconscious body language individuals use to provoke a response. All three dancers have a different language but maintain a common ground. It's Like A Thorn In My Side - Created in collaboration with sculptural artist Heidi Luker, this piece represents a journey from suppressed anxiety to freedom and contentment. An exciting work investigating a journey of extreme emotions.
