Details
Armonico Consort was formed in 2001 and specialises in baroque and renaissance music. Following the succes of the Supersize Polyphony concert last February, which included a stunning performance of Thomas Tallis's 40-part motet Spem in Alium, Armonico returns with more Renaissance choral music in this concert, which sets the music of William Byrd in its historical context. As well as Byrd's Ave Verum and music from his Four-Part Mass, the programme also includes Victoria's Versa Est, Lotti's Crucifixus and Allegri's famous setting of the Miserere.
