Rambert Dance Company - Awakenings Tour 2011: The Art of Touch/RainForest archiveBritain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings. Britain's national contemporary dance company returns to its partner theatre with a brand new programme of imaginative, ambitious and high quality dance, including an exciting new work, Awakenings. A collaboration between theatrical choreographer Aletta Collins and a newly commissioned score by celebrated American composer Tobias Picker, this is the first dance interpretation of Oliver Sacks' book of the same name. Made famous by the 1990’s Hollywood film starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro, Awakenings is a beautiful piece of dance full of high emotion, energy and drama. Two further dance works, yet to be announced, will also be performed. Rambert Dance Company - Awakenings Tour 2011: The Art of Touch/RainForest website.
