Oedipus archiveThe Land of Thebes is dying. In order to restore balance King Oedipus is forced to unmask a killer, but his zealous search uncovers a more terrifying secret. Sophocles' play is a mixture of classical tragedy, whodunnit and political thriller. Russia, 1917. A street in Petrograd. The Players gather to perform Oedipus the Tsar to the starving citizens. They want to incite a riot; they want to bring about the Tsar's downfall. They want revolution. But just as they begin, the Tsar appears and decides to watch the play. What now? As the Revolution builds, so does the tragedy of Oedipus - who will fall first?
