Romeo and Juliet archiveThe story of frustrated young (illegally young in modern terms) love and death and the vendetta between two families in a tight-knit Italian community. One of Shakespeare's most popular and enduring dramas it has also been re-done as film, ballet, musical (most notably "West Side Story") and ice spectacular! A fast and furious retelling of Shakespeare's classic where teenage energy collides with young love against the explosive soundtrack of the 1960s. It's 1964 and every young person is either a Mod or a Rocker. When the two meet, tragedy ensues. For, and about young people, this roller-coaster production is a perfect opportunity for GCSE Literature and Drama students to experience live Shakespeare.
