Carlos was trained through the Cuban state ballet system and danced at the Bolshoi when he was just 16. He is now acknowledged globally as one of the finest dancers of his generation. Hot shot Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta who danced at the Bolshoi and is a leading soloist with the Royal Ballet brings his first full evening choreography to Sadler’s Wells for its UK debut. Premiered in Havana Tocororo - A Cuban Tale unites the world of classical ballet with the richness of Cuban dance in a spectacular and moving story about a son who leaves the traditions of the Cuban countryside for an urban future. Seventeen dancers from the leading Havana company Danza Contemporanea are lead and choreographed by Carlos Acosta and original music, played live by five hand-picked cuban musicians, is composed by Miguel Nunes.
