Moving house is recognised as one of the most stressful events in life - but once the move is completed, what then? There's the anxiety of social occasions with new acquaintances: how seriously should you take the instruction to wear fancy dress? Can you ever escape from difficult relatives or embarrassing reminders of past romances? Given a weekend free from child care responsibilities, will you be able to talk to your partner about what really matters? And by the end of the evening, the new neighbours may well feel they know just a little too much about each other for comfort, as they move in and out of each other's houses in ever decreasing circles.
