Details

Somewhere in a city on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean is a mysteriously beautiful pavilion, home to that legendary night spot, the Boing! Club. Here the privileged few permitted to enter, will encounter enigmatic strangers and entertainments from around the world: musicians, dancers, acrobats, parfumiers and magicians. This year a new marvel has been added: the Silver Screen. This magical device displays the delight on the faces of the Boing! Club guests. It reveals the secrets in their eyes. This is the world of Moving Pictures. In a highly individualised way, each student will experience a performance tailored to their specific needs. We will be deploying the range of multi-sensory, highly interactive strategies which we have developed over the last 14 years, to emphasize this year's theme of Self-Image. The transforming power of the trampoline, the flying carpet ride, was demonstrated time and time again during our tour of Boing! in 2002. Normally tense young people became relaxed beyond all expectation. Very passive people became enthusiastically involved. Some hyperactive students became still and enchanted. Work with audiences consisting of young people with PMLD and their families, as part of holiday schemes for example, will form a significant part of the Moving Pictures tour. Previously we have seen great benefits when family groups have visited our multi-sensory Wonderlands
