The Academy of St Martin in the Fields was founded in 1959 by Sir Neville Marriner, and spearheaded the 1960s baroque revival. From its beginnings as a small, conductor-less string group, it has grown to encompass many different formations - from chamber group to classical-sized orchestra. What remains unchanged is that Academy players are drawn from the cream of musical talent, producing a richness of sound and virtuosic skill recognised the world over. The Family Music Day is back!
