The Land of Thebes is dying. In order to restore balance King Oedipus is forced to unmask a killer, but his zealous search uncovers a more terrifying secret. Sophocles' play is a mixture of classical tragedy, whodunnit and political thriller. Performed from a version of Sophocles' classic adapted by David Stuttard, Oedipus is very much a play for today. With an epidemic sweeping the nation, the head-of-state is so certain of his own abilities that any criticism is seen as a threat. But what if he himself is the problem?
