Details

One act opera. A widow is being persuaded to give up her mourning by her servant when a creditor of her late husband's arrives. Experience the thrill of intimate opera as The Minotaur Music Theatre makes a welcome return to The Rosemary Branch. You may think that grand opera above a pub is a bit of a novelty but we should like to point out that we have been doing it for over ten years and take much pride in the high quality of the productions. Minotaur Music Theatre's previous triumphs at The Rosie include La Cenerentola 2004, The Bear, The Wandering Scholar, La Boheme 2005, Don Giovanni 2006, Cosi Fan Tutte and The Barber of Seville 2007. An ambitious soprano, a luggage mixup, the destructive power of the sea and an unpaid debt - four contrasting one act operas in two exciting programmes. The casts of young professional singers at the start of their careers include Rosemary Branch favourites John Savournin and Rosie Bell, as well as many outstanding newcomers.
