Phoenix Dance Company are one of the leading exponents of contemporary dance. The three works have distinctly different moods, and offer a rich and varied experience of contemporary dance:
Paseillo focuses on human interaction, with dancers whispering and gossiping on stage as they explore their relationships with each other. The beautiful Mozart score and enigmatically decaying costumes finish the piece beautifully.
Los Picadores is set to Stravinsky's "Les Noces," only instead of being about a wedding, it is about a stag night that goes horribly awry.
Nopalitos is a riot of Mexican influences, in costume, dramatic set and Lila Downs’ music.
