The story of frustrated young (illegally young in modern terms) love and death and the vendetta between two families in a tight-knit Italian community. One of Shakespeare's most popular and enduring dramas it has also been re-done as film, ballet, musical (most notably "West Side Story") and ice spectacular! As the drama unfolds, Daniel Kramer's production reveals elements of aerial acrobatics that combine with classical acting to create real poetry in motion. Classic scenes such as the infamous balcony tryst are given new life as Romeo woos Juliet from a trapeze and their famous love scene is played out on top of a circus silk. The costumes, designed by Givenchy's Andrew Heather, resonate with the power, shape, texture and opulence of this classic couture house. The River Styx Company brings together a cast of 25 artists from the UK and as far afield as the USA, Australia, Poland, Norway and France. In this production Logan Brown is Romeo and Gwendolyn Warnock is Juliet.
