These are truly the "theatregoers' choice" prizes, the only major theatre awards in which the audience are the judges across all awards categories. The 2017 awards shortlists - covering the best theatre during the 2016 theatre year - will be announced at a Launch Party on 1 December, with voting then online until 31 January 2017.
