Fairy Tale Heart archiveFairy Tale Heart is a captivating and moving magical production about two 15 year olds dealing with ruptured families and homelessness by embracing their hopes and fears in a derelict community centre. Told through imaginative physical theatre, music and French language. Kirsty and Gideon, strangers, meet. She has escaped from her own birthday party. He has turned a derelict community centre into his home. In this chance encounter they share their stories and prepare a show transforming their lives and each other. In La Compagnie Bewitched's production the action takes place in the 1990's with a fusion of British Pop music and Opera amongst a set created by Louise, a 15 year old new designer, who matched the conditions of the character Gideon for her design. Through interactive performance, underneath a large woollen web filled with drawings and memories, actors and audience will embark on a magical adventure together. This beautiful play is at the same time a socio-political story as well as a fairy tale. Philip Ridley's masterpiece is about that moment when childhood fantasy meets adult drama.
