Winner of the 1999 Jerwood Award, Akram Khan is a rising star on the contemporary dance scene. This fantastically skilled dancer and choreographer performs both Asian traditional and western contemporary dance. Fix - In Fix, another short solo, Khan's response to music by Nitin Sawhney is a cascading chain reaction of narrative emotion, drawing its energy from Sufism's whirling dervishes. Rush - utilises the talents of composer Andy Cowton and lighting designer Michael Hulls to investigate the notion of falling. Dancers perform daredevil, delicate and sensuous sequences.
