Alain Platel founded Les Ballets C. de B. in 1984. A dynamic dance and theatre collective, the company is renowned for its powerful theatrical dance performances. Six buddies become one performance-body; the voice of a singer, the hands of a pianist and the limbs of the dancer. A quest for tenderness and tranquillity in a world of aggression; an emotional rollercoaster on a journey of fear. Countertenor Steve Dugardin sings the songs of Henry Purcell live on stage, accompanied by the pianist and composer Guy Van Nueten. Choreographer Koen Augustijnen leads an all male cast of dancers including Tayeb Benamara, Ghislain Malardier and Ted Stoffer. b?che ingenuously blends contemporary dance, physical theatre, circus acrobatics and break-dancing with live music.
