Ralph carries his screenplay Gizmo Love in a small wooden box. He has long since lost track of where the scripts ends and real life begins. By naively selling his precious life's work to a big-shot producer on the other end of the telephone he is thrown into the claustrophobic and cutthroat world of tinsel town.
