The popular story by the Brothers Grimm. It's wintertime and the two old shoemakers have no money to buy food or fuel, let alone presents for each other. But their generosity and kindness are repaid in a strange and wonderful way. Once Upon A Time, There Was A Kind, Honest Man Who Worked Hard All Day Long Making Shoes...The Everyman Theatre appreciates some children may not be ready for the full "Cinderella" pantomime experience, so we are delighted to be able to offer our own magical alternative for those children aged between 4 - 7 years, in the Everyman's intimate studio space. The Elves and the Shoemaker is a delightful tale, capturing the kindness of the shoemaker and the charm of the elves. The production uses elements that are at the heart of pantomime whilst safely surrounding the audience with the warmth of friendly puppets and a cosy environment.
