Come and get Absolutely Legless during an evening of traditional Irish dance and music! Formed in 1997, the Edinburgh-based traditional Irish Dance group, Absolutely Legless, comprise 25 dancers and musicians who have earned a worldwide reputation for exciting and innovative performances. They combine the grace of the soft shoes with the power and rhythmic precision of the hard shoes for a truly exhilarating experience. The band seamlessly weaves the evocative melodies and driving rhythms of both traditional and original airs, jigs and reels, and includes fiddles, flutes and guitars. The performers include students, doctors, nurses and accountants who all share a love for Irish dance and music. They hail from Edinburgh, Fife, Dumfries and Galloway, West and East Lothian and the North East of England. Over the years, Absolutely Legless has taken part in dance festivals throughout the UK and in Hungary, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Russia. Later this year they will take part in the Folkmoot Festival in North Carolina, and return to the Edinburgh Fringe. Stunning choreography … spectacular dancing to lively musical arrangements. Absolutely Legless set the evening alight and went down a storm … A visual and musical delight – Edinburgh International Conference Centre Absolutely Legless website.
