Named after Battlefield in Glasgow, where the group was formed at the end of the 70s. The band have toured extensively around the world - distilling their own unique form of the Scottish Spirit and bottling it in concert and onto disc. Scottish traditional legends the Battlefield Band so enjoyed their trip to Uzbekistan in 2003 that they have invited four of the best Uzbek musicians to join them on their latest tour. On the Great Silk Road celebrates these two vibrant traditions, blending these great musicians and instruments together in beautiful style, and adding top class dancers.
