Freddy Kempf archiveBorn in London, Freddy began playing the piano at the age of only four and has developed a comprehensive repertoire of works and considerable experience as a soloist. In 1987 he won the first National Mozart Competition in England and in 1992 he won the BBC Young Musician of the Year. Freddy Kempf is one of today’s most successful pianists, performing to sell-out audiences all over the world and we are delighted that he is opening our second collection of six Tuesday night concerts featuring leading performers from the world of classical music. Freddy has built a unique reputation both as an explosive and physical performer not afraid to take risks as well as a serious, sensitive and profoundly musical artist. His programme will consist of Beethoven’s Eroica Variations and Waldstein Sonata, Partita in E major by Bach-Rachmaninov and Schumann’s Kreisleriana.
