Details

Based on the original tale by Cervantes. The ballet follows the adventures of Kitri, the adventurous peasant girl, who runs off to a gypsy encampment with her sweetheart, the local barber Basilio, rather than follow her father's wish that she marry the outrageously silly, but wealthy Gamache. After romantic and comic complications including a sword-fight, tilting at the windmill and a moonlit pas de deux, chivalrous Don Quixote resourcefully ensures a happy ending. Running time 2hrs 35mins.
