Comedian Mark Watson attempts, for the first time, to perform for 25 hours straight, while similarly unwise people in the venue and all over the country take on their own 25-hour challenges in a gigantic festival of human endeavour, sleep deprivation, fundraising and idiocy - all for Red Nose Day 2013. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Red Nose Day, so in celebration Mark has decided to dedicate one hour to each of Red Nose Day's 25 years. This will be one of the oddest, and certainly one of the longest, events ever staged for Comic Relief, involving hundreds of hardy volunteers over a show so vast that it spans two months (admittedly, this is partly because of the choice of date). There will be games, songs, stunts, endurance challenges, long periods of awkward silence. There'll be comic and celebrity guest appearances, once-in-a-lifetime prize auctions, spontaneous mayhem, planned mayhem. Above all, there will be one slightly delirious man talking for a very, very long time, trying to continue being funny while also maintaining basic human functions like eating and going to the toilet. Mark Watson's endurance shows became the stuff of comedy legend between 2004 and 2009, but he thought he was done with it forever. Instead, for the first time, he will attempt to combine this bizarre and possibly dangerous task with a banquet of fundraising feats taking place all over the UK and the wider world.
