CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 but restrictions were lifted on 19th July 2021 with venues free to run shows to full capacity audiences after that though there are still issues with company members being forced to self-isolate on being 'pinged'. In September it is possible that a COVID vaccination certificate (or exemption) may be mandated for entry. Stand Up for Dance is the final event in The Placeâs Reaching for the Stars appeal, a year-long campaign to raise over 1m for the construction of two new studios for use by professionals, students and the local community. Comedian Ian Stone brings together the UKâs top comics, including Omid Djalili, Sean Lock and Stewart Lee, for a one-off evening of live comedy on Sunday 6 July in aid of The Place, the UKâs premier centre for contemporary dance. All of the comics are frequent TV performers and top-of-the-bill names on stand-up circuit, and no less than four were included in Channel 4âs recent poll of the 100 Greatest Stand Ups Ever.
