Over ten years ago, John began work on researching the life and times of the world's greatest composer. This labour of love has taken him from the Beethoven Archive in Bonn to the Centre for Beethoven Studies in California as well as t Vienna and Prague. The result has been a fictional biography in three volumes, entitled The Last Master. Although the trilogy is fiction, John has reconstructed Beethoven's life as faithfully as possible through documentary sources. The evening will be a tribute to Beethoven's life from personal anguish to artistic triumph, illustrated by extracts from the composer's work.
