Chiao-Ying Chang was born in Taiwan, and at the age of 16 entered the Royal Academy of Music as its youngest student. While at the Academy Chiao-Ying has won numerous prizes including both the Undergraduate Piano Recital Prize in 1998 and the Postgraduate Piano Recital Prize in 1999.
