Joining forces with the City of Hull Youth Choir, as well as various other local singers, the ensemble will perform Omega and Alpha, a new oratorio written by Martin Emslie. Thought-provoking lyrics and emotive characters will captivate audiences, as the choir and soloists perform resonating harmonies against an epic instrumental backdrop. Omega and Alpha conveys a powerful retelling of the Easter Passion story and aims to offer a fresh rendition of the Passion of the Christ. Fusing sacred music with the highly descriptive style found in musical theatre, Emslie uses modern techniques, such as free movement between keys and time signatures, to create a truly encapsulating and poignant piece.
