Ensemble 360 was formed in 2005 to take up residency in South Yorkshire succeeding The Lindsays who were retiring as a quartet. The ensemble brings together musicians from across the globe to form one versatile ensemble of eleven musicians; five wind players, a pianist, double bassist and the Elisas String Quartet. This evening's concert of world-class musicians from Ensemble 360 opens with beauty and youthful energy in the form of Schubert's haunting Nocturne and Mendelssohn's vivacious string quartet. Gabriel Faur?'s Requiem is one of the most popular choral works of all time and he brings the same lyricism and warmth to this supremely elegant Piano Quintet.Performers Tim Horton (piano), Benjamin Nabarro (violin), Claudia Ajmone-Marsan (violin), Ruth Gibson (viola), Gemma Rosefield (cello).
