The Turkish pianist s discography on the Naxos label is legendary for including all major piano concertos and concert repertoires by the great classical masters. Since age sixteen Idil has given concerts throughout the world with major orchestras including the, Leningrad Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Tokyo Philharmonic and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She has collaborated with conductors including Pierre Monteux, Alexander Dimitreev, Anthony Wit and Aaron Copland. The Turkish pianist will perform Parisian Gems, conducted by renowned ambassador and exponent of classical music, John Gibbons. As a major centre of European culture, Paris inspired both Haydn and Mozart to write symphonies for the city and during the seasonal debut, their works will be juxtaposed with three French works. Idil Biret will play both Ballade by Gabriel Fauré and Saint-Saëns’s piano concerto no 2 in G minor, with its light scherzo and vibrant Tarantella finale. They will be interspersed by Delibes’ Pizzicato from his ballet Sylvia.
