Details
Imagine standing in a rainforest at dawn. You are surrounded by a myriad of sounds. Some are startlingly close, some almost impossibly far away. Many are moving - some fast, some slow. Replace these sounds with James Wood's Jodo (The Pure Land) for percussionist, soprano, and his new Sound Spatialiser, and you get some idea of this fascinating new work. Jodo tells poignantly of a forbidden love between the Great priest of Shiga Temple and the Great Imperial Concubine. A dangerous liaison springs up between them..
