This yearâs Tate Modern collaboration uses the exhibition Dali and Film as a springboard to focus on the imaginative world of his friend and collaborator the poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca. Simon Holtâs works for solo voice, cello, flute and clarinet are of a sharply Spanish character. His Lorca settings precede Lorcaâs Canciones Populares, a collection of folksongs the poet found and transcribed. The event ends with Berioâs celebrated Folk Songs which reunites mezzo Sally Burgess with conductor Richard Bernas and producer Mike Ashman following their hugely successful Pierrot Lunaire at the Almeida in 2006.Performers Sally Burgess (mezzo-soprano).
