A night of live music, spoken word, DJs and more to raise awareness and much needed funds for the survivors of the devastating earthquake in Haiti on the 12th January. All proceeds will be split between Oxfam's Haiti Appeal and the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). Last Tuesday saw a massive earthquake hit the Caribbean Island of Haiti. As of 17th January 2010, it was thought that at least 100,000 people could have died and millions more are still unaccounted for or have been left homeless in the aftermath of what the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon has called "the worst humanitarian crisis for decades". This Wednesday, in response to the ongoing situation in Haiti and with the intention of raising as much money as possible to help the survivors of the earthquake, a group of young professionals in the creative industry have come together to organise Love Music: Help Haiti, an evening of live music, spoken word and DJs that will take place at Proud Camden (www.proudcamden.com) in London, UK. Featuring performances by Micachu, Chapter 24, Fiction, Polar Bear and many more, the event will start at 9pm and will run until late in the evening.
