Details

Mr McFall's Chamber is a group of (mostly) classical players, for which the lure of other contemporary styles has proved irresistible. Using amplification and sometimes electric instruments, they have established themselves at the alternative end of the alternative club scene, mixing performances of Part and Shostakovich with versions of Hendrix, King Crimson and Pink Floyd. Paying homage to the band's first gig in 1996, this trademark McFall's programme combines music from jazz-rooted artists Tim Garland, Joe Zawinul, Raymond Scott and Martin Kershaw, with a new commission from celebrated UK composer Jeremy Thurlow, capped off with arrangements of Frank Zappa's incredible blend of rock.
