Fifteen young dancers, graduates of Béjart's Ecole-Atelier Rudra, collaborate with world-renowned ballerina Marcia Haydée], in a celebration in dance of the life and work of Mother Teresa. The production has toured to great acclaim in Europe and marks a bold new departure in Béjart's style, turning away from the scale of his larger works to a more intimate 'chamber' mode. Danced to an eclectic score of recorded music, Mother Teresa and the Children of the World is a series of impressionistic brushstrokes, evoked by the memories and teachings of a remarkable woman as seen through the refracting mirror of a remarkable choreographer.
