New York born Daniel Linehan's work as a choreographer and performer has been greeted with critical praise both at home and in Europe. After a recent relocation to the world-renowned PARTS research centre in Brussels, he makes his London debut with the fascinating duet, Montage for Three and the acclaimed solo, Not About Everything. Montage for Three uses a collection of projected images alongside two dancers, who attempt to reproduce the movement captured in the photographs. By attempting to give life to the static, the images begin to take on a life of their own in a clever manipulation of the viewer’s perspective. Not About Everything opens with a single body entering the stage and beginning to turn. At first gentle, the turning gradually transforms into a relentless gyratory motion as Linehan takes on multiple simultaneous tasks. Speaking, thinking, reacting and addressing the audience throughout, he creates a dance that is both funny and complex.
