Waiting Fleeing - Choreographed and performed by Laila Diallo, Waiting Fleeing is a solo inspired by Hiroshi Sugimoto’s photographs of seascapes. Merging film and live dance, the piece explores personal and distant horizons. Film, lighting design and music are respectively by Mariko Montpetit, Andy Downie and Phil King.
SPILL - Sonia Sabri is one of a new generation of British born professional Kathak dancers, creating work that spans from the presentation of classical North Indian Kathak to explorations of contemporary approaches. She has created a fresh, funky style of Kathak by reinventing it from within, pushing boundaries to create work that is original in concept, exciting and relevant to today.
SPILL celebrates the potential of the human body as an aural and visual instrument, creating a rich texture of movement and patterns of rhythm using hands, feet and body, plus the poignant flute melodies and entrancing rhythmic vocals of renowned composer Sarvar Sabri.
One - A solo premiere celebrating the multiplicity and contradictions of identity. Hanna Gillgren is one half of London based h2dance, formed in 1999 with co-director Heidi Rustgaard. Their work draws on diverse interests to create dynamic, thought-provoking and ironic dance performances with a live art edge, which blend fast-paced movement with text, song, film and design elements. h2dance won the IMZ Dance On Screen Award 2005 in collaboration with film director Rachel Davies for the film Gold.
