The programme includes Jiri Kylian's sensuous duet Study from Blackbird that, like a blackbird's love song, resonates with emotion. Two works by Christopher Bruce feature. The first, Hurricane is a dramatic solo that tells the poignant story of Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter, the African/American boxer who was wrongfully imprisoned on a triple murder charge. The second is his sensational and emotionally-charged masterpiece Ghost Dances, which is performed to the bewitching rhythms of Andean folk music.
