Richard Alston Dance Company - Fever / Tremor / Rough Cut archiveContemporary dance. Richard Alston, Artistic Director of The Place, the UK's leading centre for contemporary dance, is internationally recognised as one of the most influential and inspiring choreographers in British dance. Fever his latest work, feeds off the restless longings of some of the most exquisite and expressive madrigals - music of pure beauty from Monteverdi's delicate score and dance that is both dreamy and corporeal. Tremor - features ten dancers flying across the stage, driven by Shostakovich's intensely powerful third quartet played live by Stringfactory. Roughcut - Set to Steve Reich's shimmering New York and Electric Counterpoints for clarinet and electric guitar, this is an energetic piece.
