Movements From Petrushka links the anguish of the main character to the very real mental suffering of Nijinsky, the great dancer who created the role of Petrushka. This brand new production boasts designs based on the original dropcloth by Alexandre Benois and choreography revolving around a grand piano, which is played centrestage. Martin Lawrance’s To Dance And Skylark, his latest work, is a joyous celebration of Bach’s vigorous and colourful Brandenburg Concertos. The company’s high-spirited athletics pick up on all the elation of this wonderful music.
