Richard Alston, Artistic Director of The Place, the UK's leading centre for contemporary dance, is internationally recognised as one of the most influential and inspiring choreographers in British dance. Overdrive is pulsating choreography, inspired by the resonating push of Terry Riley's Keyboard Studies. As the music creates more complicated rhythms, Overdrive sets the whole company in frenetic motion. Hora Lunga, more intimate and astringent, matches the spirit of György Ligeti's powerful sonata for solo viola.
